Peter Luty is a photographer, painter and printmaker.
He began his professional career as an architect and now concentrates on the representation and interpretation of buildings, old and new, gardens, plants and sculptural objects.
He is interested in spaces, shapes and forms, in the textures of materials, the effects of light, the power of colour and in reflection, shadow and pattern.
Peter Luty was born and educated in Yorkshire, received his architectural degree from Edinburgh University and worked in Cambridge and London before setting up his own architectural practice in Greenwich in 1980. His studio remains in south east London.
